Inspired: Audrey Kawasaki

I discovered Audrey Kawasaki a few years ago when a friend of mine showed me some of her stuff online - I have loved her art ever since.  She has a definite mood to her work, and although she explores dark themes her pieces remain soft and feminine.

You can find more of her stuff on her website.

I hope your Wednesday has been fine.  The dark nights are definitely setting in and I'm feeling more and more wintery as the days pass by.  Time to start wrapping up in warm knits (or crochets) and blankets - I love blankets!

By chance I stumbled across this amazing artist from Buenos Aires via Fossil Blog.  I'm completely in love with her embroideries and feel really inspired to try something similar with different types of media.

Aren't they lovely?  Let me know what you think.

I'm going to bed now as I'm pooped!!  Betty woke me up at 5:45am howling in the kitchen as she needed to go wee really bad (I'd probably howl too - it's not her fault).  So I was up early walking her in the rain and need an early night now to recuperate.   Up early again tomorrow though for work; but hopefully it'll go fast because we have some good friends coming over for the night who we haven't seen in ages!  Then off to Cardiff on Saturday (early again) for another friendly get together - plenty of food, wine, song and good times.

Goodnight x

Hello again. I haven't shared any awesome artists I love with you in a while so I'm sharing this one with you today (I hope you like her)...

 I love this last one!
I see her stuff featured quite often on blogs, but still I think she's worth sharing.  If you want to see more of her stuff or buy any, you can get to her Etsy shop here.

Until next time xx

Hello.  I'm back with more pics from Brighton! I know the last post was quite photo-heavy, so I've given this a post of it's own as I didn't want to leave out any of the awesome art I saw when I was down there.

There was so much of it.  I love (good) graffiti.

I'll be sharing some more graffiti soon from my stay in London - stay tuned :)

Hello and happy Wednesday!  It's been a beautiful day here in Sheffield - the warmest day of the year so far.  Made me frustrated to be indoors for nigh on all of it, but it still picked my spirits up to have the glorious sunshine warming the world up (well a little piece of it).

All this sunshine and happiness has made me want to share with you a sunny, happy artist I love and I hope you will love too.

Her stuff is so pretty and cheerful.  I absolutely adore all of the colours in her paintings and prints. The "turn off your computer and go outside" picture is my current desktop background.  Has it made you smile?  I hope so :)

I hope this has made you smile as it did me :)
