little peeks of me

Hi.  You may or may not have noticed that I don't post an awful lot of pictures of myself on this Blog.  I do try, but I'm not all that great at taking self-portraits and I feel a bit silly asking the boyf to take pictures of me - I just feel a little vain and self-conscious posing in front of someone.  Therefore I've decided to improve my skills and dedicate a little time to taking a good self-portrait.

As you can see I find it a lot easier taking pictures of 'bits' of me.  These are fine, but I'm finding that the majority of my self portraits end up being like one of the above (also see my profile picture to the left!).

I like reading blogs where I can see what the person looks like, so I should make it my mission to add more (good) photos of myself to this one.  I need to invest in a remote for my SLR camera, but in the meantime I will have to make do with the timer function and arms-length shots.

If you are wanting to do something similar, I have read a couple of good posts on this very subject here and here - take a look, they offer some great advice.

Cheerio for now :)

anniversary

We're back from our mini-break down in Axminster.  I took Floyd for a meal at the 'River Cottage Canteen' - Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's restaurant.  It was amazing!  We ate some really tasty grub.  We also took a day trip to Lyme Regis - a sweet little seaside town on the Jurrasic coast.  Here are a few of my instagram snaps of the day...

It was such a lovely weekend, and the perfect way to celebrate our 5 years together (yup 5!).  Back to work tomorrow though - boo!

I hope your weekend was lovely too.  I'll be back tomorrow with a tune for Tuesday, so get your ears and your dancing feet ready.

Instagram

Hello and happy Sunday (my favourite day)!  I feel today may be another one of those lazy days.  The sun is shining outside, I have lots of things on my 'to do' list, but I'm quite happy lounging around in my PJ's for most of the day browsing the internet or catching up on my reading... I don't know, I'll see what takes my fancy.

Above are pictures taken using Instagram - a fun photo sharing app I use on my iphone.  If you have Instagram on your phone, please feel free to add me to your following list.  My user name is "littlelo22".  If you don't have it, you can follow my pictures via this link which I have also added as a permanent link on my blog (to the right).

I would love to see you there :)

lomography love

Hello.  I hope your having a happy Sunday.  I've been for a really long walk today around the outskirts of the peak district, and am feeling the burn in my bum-cheeks now!!  I didn't take my camera (it would've made the walk take twice as long), so instead I'm going to post some lovely lomography pictures I've been looking at on weheartit.

I found my old "action sampler" the other day; maybe I should buy some film and take it out with me one day.  I do have an app on my phone that does a similar thing... I'll show you:

Lots of fun to play with, but you have to make sure you hold the phone/camera really still to get a good picture.

Anyway, I really need to get myself motivated again - I've been slacking off a lot recently and I'm falling behind on my massive "to do" list!

Cheerio xx

Sunday walk

Me and Floyd went for a walk today around our neighbourhood.  We had ourselves a veggie breakfast from the Buddhist Meditation Centre's cafe, and then stopped by one of my favourite furniture shops.

I fell in love with this chair..!  The picture is a bit blurry but I wanted to share it anyway.

Then Floyd took me to a spooky cemetery!

... and this is what you saw when you looked through the hole:

We had Michael Jackson's "Thriller" stuck in our head for ages afterwards!!

 Ok, bye for now xx

Sunday walk

It was the Christmas market today in my neighbourhood. Lots of pretty stalls and lots of yummy food...

Me and Floyd both had some amazing German sausage from this place!

Ducks!!

This print is done by a local artist, and it's a painting of the road the stall was on.

I think I may make this a new feature, seeing as I'm trying to make sure I go for a lovely long walk every Sunday (to keep me full of energy and fresh air). It's also a good way to discover and document my new neighbourhood.
