Peek of the pit

It's midweek, which means there's only 3 more sleeps until I move to my new home.  I'm really excited but at the same time I feel a little sad to be moving out of the house that I share with some of my closest friends.

My room's a tip at the moment!  I've managed to pack quite a lot (which is an achievement considering how lazy I've been of late), but I still know there will be a mad scurry when it comes to moving day!

Just some of the views I'll be missing by the weekend.

Instagram

Hello and happy Sunday (my favourite day)!  I feel today may be another one of those lazy days.  The sun is shining outside, I have lots of things on my 'to do' list, but I'm quite happy lounging around in my PJ's for most of the day browsing the internet or catching up on my reading... I don't know, I'll see what takes my fancy.

Above are pictures taken using Instagram - a fun photo sharing app I use on my iphone.  If you have Instagram on your phone, please feel free to add me to your following list.  My user name is "littlelo22".  If you don't have it, you can follow my pictures via this link which I have also added as a permanent link on my blog (to the right).

I would love to see you there :)

Smash!

A couple of years ago Floyd bought me a 'Terramundi Pot' for my birthday.  They are beautiful hand-painted money pots that originate from Greece.  The idea is to make a wish, write your wish on a piece of paper, put it in the pot and then start saving.  You can only take the contents out of the pot by smashing it! We have been putting £1 and £2 coins in it only, and recently it was becoming too full to be able to put any more in - so we smashed it open!

The people at the bank looked a little bemused when we turned up with all these coins!  It's good timing though, because we've just been given the go-ahead to move into a new place - yey!!

Post

I got a couple of exciting things in the post today.  Check them out...

I love receiving post from other countries - I must be a bit of a stamp geek at heart.

I really appreciate the effort when you buy something from a sweet little Etsy shop and they come all wrapped up like these two pretties.

Ooh excitement :)

wishlist: special fabric post

I don't know if you know, but I'm a bit of a pattern magpie.  I love fabrics and often find myself swooning over materials I find online and in shops.  Therefore I've done a little wishlist fabric special to share some of the lovelies I've found lately.

I could go on, but I wouldn't know where to stop!  Maybe I'll do another fabric post in the future..?

Ok bye xx

Driving

Hello folks.  As of yesterday I am insured on Floyd's car (woohoo!) so tonight he took me out for my first driving lesson in over 3 years!  It was a little scary, but fun.  Floyd may not agree with the 'fun' part.

Anyway, it's good to have taken the first steps towards one of my yearly goals - to learn to drive again.

It's confirmed that we will be moving into our new place in less than 2 weeks as well, so it's all change soon! I'm really excited about having a space to make my own again.  I'll keep you posted.

Ok bye xx

Inspired: Ashley G

Hello again. I haven't shared any awesome artists I love with you in a while so I'm sharing this one with you today (I hope you like her)...

 I love this last one!
I see her stuff featured quite often on blogs, but still I think she's worth sharing.  If you want to see more of her stuff or buy any, you can get to her Etsy shop here.

Until next time xx

Little Miss Procrastination

I may have mentioned before (a few times) that I am a pretty bad procrastinator - and I mean bad in the original sense, not in a bad-ass kind of way.  I've been trying to remedy this in a number of ways, but I read something quite interesting in this book today.

Basically it states that "starting any activity causes your mind to experience a kind of psychic anxiety" which will then be relieved by completing the task.  If we don't complete things, then our brains will "quietly nag away at us" until we finish what we started. So really I should just get something going and I'll be more than likely to want to keep working until it's done.  Hmm, we'll see...

May the fourth be with you

Hello! I know this is totally geeky, but today is Star Wars Day so I'm bringing you a list of the best themed things I've found on Etsy to celebrate.  My housemate would totally love this! He's the biggest Star Wars geek I know.

Wow Obi-Wan cookies!! Found here.

I love this snow walker painted on wood - found here.

How cute would this crocheted hat look on a little person? Found here.

This lovely carved figurines are actually wedding cake toppers - amazing! Found here.

Loving this really cool belt - found here.

If I had an i-phone 4 I would consider getting this.

 Eep!! Adorable.  Found here.

Happy Star Wars Day all xx

Home Envy

I've just come across this lovely living space via design* sponge and come over all green with jealousy.

This girl lives here with her boyfriend.  I really love her paintings.

I particularly like the cactus one on the right.

Hmm, can't wait to get my own place again... not long now though :)
